StayGolden is a Shopify e-commerce brand with a growing catalog. A lean team runs inventory, forecasting, product, collections, and purchasing across a stack of tools that didn't talk to each other.
The Challenge
Five systems, none of them connected
StayGolden's operation was spread across disconnected tools. Shopify held the catalog and the orders. Inventory lived somewhere else. Forecasting, product records, collections, and purchase orders each sat in their own silo, with no connection tying them together.
Because nothing was integrated, nothing stayed in sync. A change in one place never made it to the others on its own. Stock counts drifted out of date the moment Shopify moved. POs had no live link to the inventory they were meant to replenish. Keeping the picture accurate meant a human manually carrying data from one system to the next — and every handoff was a chance for the numbers to fall out of agreement.
The result was an operation where answering a basic question — what's in stock, what's on order, what's selling — meant pulling from several places and reconciling them by hand, every single time.
The Solution
We connected everything into one source of truth
We built StayGolden a centralized operational system in Retool and integrated it directly with Shopify, so the data that used to be stranded in separate tools now flows into one place automatically.
Shopify orders and catalog sync into the system on their own. Inventory, forecasting, product master records, collection structure, and PO management all live in that same connected layer — no longer five islands, but one system where a change in any one area updates everywhere it's relevant. Purchase orders tie back to the exact SKUs they affect, and receiving updates stock in real time. The manual carrying of data between systems is simply gone.
